about

My first full album since 'Leaving Time' is in many ways a bookend to that collection of songs about other people's moments of departure, whilst also being a contrast. The first half of 'Home at Last' looks backward, the second forward as I hunch myself against the wind and move forward in life with renewed vigour. There's personal stuff in here, but not in a way I hope that locks anyone out

Musically diverse, the songs are drawn from three years' worth of work to form a coherent whole. It's taken a while to assemble a collection of material that makes sense when taken together. I've also burned a lot of care and time over their production and mixing, listening to input from some trusted pairs of ears, and working with some great musicians whose contributions have been immense.

As for myself, I've left everything out there on the field of play with this one, and there's more than just skin in the game. All the same I'm proud that these songs stand up to be counted on their own. I hope you like them, because it's been so damn long.

All proceeds as ever will go to a charity of some sort, probably a local refugee one this time.
